Web Development
So what's the difference between web design and web development and why, you might ask, did I feel the need to list them separately? Simply, web design focuses on the look and usability of your site, whereas web development focuses on the actual implementation of your site and how the site is put together with coding and structure. There are thousands of examples of seemingly gorgeous web sites where beauty is only skin-deep. Poorly written pages can have a negative effect on search engine placement and make updates and maintenance needlessly time consuming. Development also focuses on the addition of databases and scripting languages. The proper use of these resources can take a simple web site and turn it into a dynamic, interactive experience. So why did I list them separately? I listed them separately because unlike some designers who are unwilling or incapable of diving into the depths of the web's deep end, I pride myself on my ability to build websites whose beauty shines on all levels.
Web Site Maintenance
Having a web site built is only the first step toward a successful web presence. The content of the site must be kept current and fresh. By now I'm sure that you have had the frustrating experience of looking at a site that hasn't been updated in years. You wonder if any of the information contained therein still has any relevance to what you are looking for. Are there still any of these products available to purchase? Does this company still exist? If you have content that needs to go up or come down from your existing site or outdated links, these changes can be made almost as quickly as you can request them.
eCommerce
If you would like to sell something online, you are in luck. There are currently several pre-built shopping cart applications that can be added to your site in just a fraction of the time it used to take to provide an eCommerce solution. These applications can then be populated with your products and designed to fit in with the rest of your site quickly and easily. SCORM training
According to Advanced Distributed Learning(ADL), Sharable Content Object Reference Model(SCORM) is a collection of standards and specifications adapted from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive suite of e-learning capabilities that enable interoperability, accessibility and reusability of Web-based learning content. If that seemed a bit cloudy and difficult to understand, don't feel bad you are not alone, even people who have been working with SCORM from it's inception sometimes have difficulties implementing, or for that matter just explaining it. In its essence SCORM is simply a set of guidelines designed to make computer-based training consistently usable that has become the standard in eLearning. I have spent the last two years creating SCORM compliant learning Objects for UPS, and would be very excited to bring the skills and knowledge I've developed with SCORM to your company's benefit.
Flash
Flash has come a long way since its inception, when it was being used as little more than a showy home page intro. These days there is a very complex coding language buried within Flash that can be used to create online applications that are easier, smoother and more attractive than almost anything currently on the web.
